Fishing Reports

Fishing Report – October

Catching good numbers of fish right now. Lots of smaller fish to sort
through, but if you have some patience you’ll be rewarded with a teener.
Some days up to 15 fish landed  making for  a busy day. 233,214,228, and the
215 seem to be the most consistent flies working.  I’ve also been running
lures down around 100 ft for bull trout and the odd rainbow. Been quite a
bit of action  down deep as well. Water temp is around 55.5 – 56 so we are
getting in the zone. Once water stays at 55 or lower they will stop yo-
yoing and stay on the surface.
The Woodbury Resort rainbow derby is this weekend. Lots of prize money to be
had this year. I believe it is up to $4000 for first. Also Nov 8,9,10 is the
Kaslo Hotel and Barrens tackle derby in Kaslo. Big money for that derby as
well.
Been a beautiful fall and lots of great fishing to be done. Drop me a line
and we can start planning your trip for this falls prime time!!

Fishing Report – September

Made it home from the island around the beginning of September. Had a great
summer !  Much better salmon fishing than last summer and the Hali’s were
plentiful as well.  Thank you everyone who came out and made it a fun and
successful summer. Everybody is already looking forward to next year.
Got back home and had a couple calls for the lakes already. We got five fish
the one day, and four the next. Smaller fish, but considering that the water
was 68 degrees we were happy. Most fish were at 50 ft on small apex’s.
Time to start thinking about fall fishing on Kootenay Lake. About mid Oct.
prime time will start up. Need to get that water temp down below 55 degrees.
Give me a call to get your primetime spot booked !!

Fishing Report – July 2013

Hello from Ucluelet !!!  Been fishing now for over two weeks and the fishing
has been great. Good numbers of both salmon and halibut, and the size is
better than last year. The picture is of our first Tyee. Caught by Terry
from Iowa. It was 31 lbs. most fish have been 15 to 20lbs that we keep and
lately getting some to the mid twenties.
Have jigged for halibut a few times and it has been great. Lots of halibut
again this year.
The weather has been very nice and sunny, but that has meant wind. Lots of
wind. If it gets too windy we have been fishing Great Bear and Sail Rock
with good success. Nice springs there and coho at Chrowe and Beg.  Supposed
to lay down tonight for the next few days with the weather change. I have
August 30,31 still open if your interested in putting some fish in the
freezer.

I have been doing alot of updates and pictures on Facebook, so if you would
