Fishing Reports

Fishing Report – June 2013

Been an ok spring fishing wise. Had a late start. Usually by third week in
April things get fired up but seemed to be about ten days late. Got some
real nice rainbows through May, and some days getting multiple trout in the
10 – 18 lb class.
Lately the 225 bucktail has been kicking in, and of course the 215 and 228
standbys. Heard some good stories of the purple flies working as well, but
they didn’t seem to work for me.
# 16 Lyman and silver J have been my best plugs and cop car apex of course.
I have a couple more weeks to fish Kootenay Lake and then I have to pull the
boat and get ready for salmon and halibut fishing. Hank will be running my
Kootenay charters through the summer.
Will be fishing in Ucluelet starting at the end of June. Lots of good
reports coming from there already. Good sized springs and some good coho
days already, along with Hali’s of course. Looking forward to getting out
there and loading up on some big fish.

I still have one date open in July, and three dates open in August. Hope you
can join me for this awesome trip!!

Don’t forget to like us on Facebook. I update a lot more often on there
along with pictures. Only takes me a few seconds to get pictures out on

Looking forward to fishing with you soon !!

Fishing Report – April 2013

Not too much new to report the last couple of weeks. Seems to be a slow
start to spring fishing, but I expect things to heat up very soon.Water temp
is around 45 degrees. Getting shakers mostly and some nice Bull Trout. I
expect things to change within the week. Having some real nice warm days to
fire things up.

Brownies flies that are working are 215,221,214,228, and 219. Typical spring
colors. For Lymans, green’s and pinks mostly. Top 30 feet. Getting a few at
around 77, but not many. I’ll send out a report soon to let you know when
the big trout have turned on.

I have a few salmon / halibut trips in August left. Prime time. Looking like
a great summer is on its way. They are already getting some fish in Ucluelet
now. Feeder springs and some salmon from the early Columbia River run. What
an awesome time out on the west coast !! I can hardly wait to get out there

and load up.
