Fishing Reports

Fishing Report – July 8, 2012

Hello from Ucluelet. Moved out to Ukee and started fishing the west coast
around July 1. Great numbers of both salmon and halibut. Sorting through the
small ones and keeping springs in the 15 – 25 lb range. A few fish over 30
lbs have been showing up, and their numbers will increase over the next
couple of weeks.
Lots of halibut this year as well. Seems like they are a bit bigger this
year. I started anchoring up for them on the nicer days, and it is working
very well.
I have a couple of open dates in primetime August, so if your looking for an
incredible west coast experience, and some fish for the freezer, please drop
me a line.
See you soon.

Fishing Report – May 09, 2012

Spring fishing on Kootenay Lake is on. Most days out getting rainbows over
10 lbs. All chromers coming in as the spawners are up at Gerrard now. Will
be going up there hopefully on the weekend to see the spawning fish, and get
an idea on the counts.

Last week we were getting nice fish most days. Fish in the 12 – 15lb range.
On wednesday we never landed one over 10lbs. Then on Thursday everything
came together and we had a busy day. We landed 5 rainbows in the 11 – 17lb
range. Gorgeous chromers. Great fight. Also threw in an 8lb dolly and 4
shakers. The 219, 221, and 215 were hot that day. Typical spring colors.
Flies with green in them are working well as the water turns green from the
runoff.

Still have a few salmon/halibut dates left. Will be out on the west coast
fishing by the beginning of July.

Weather have finally turned nice. Looks like we may get a summer after all.
Hope you can join me soon.

Fishing Report – April 17, 2012

Spring fishing is starting. Starting to get rainbows on hair. Need to keep
it slow to about 2 – 2.2mph. Should be full on here in a week or two. The
228 and 215 have been working for me. The greens should start up soon as
well. The time is now to book your May and June fishing trips.

The Woodbury Dolly Derby had another great year. We had 3 bull trout about
10 or 11 lbs, along with a bunch of smaller ones.We also landed an 11 lb
rainbow. Winning weight was 15lbs and third was 12. So close but no cigar.

Still have a few salmon / halibut trips available. Will be starting out on
the west coast about July 1.The boys are already having some good days out
there so will be a great year.

I got a new computer, and had to move over my fishing report list. Some of
you may have been in my contacts, and got automatically put into my fishing
report list. If you have received this email in error and would like to be
removed, please reply to this email and type in remove in the subject line,
and I’ll pull you out.Thanks.

Feels great to be out fishing in the warm spring sun (when it decides to
come out). Hope you can join me soon.
