Started going up the Beaton Arm around the middle of January for 4 trips. The first trip we got 10 bulls with two 12 lbers being the biggest. The next trip we got 14 fish with a 12 and a 15lber being the biggest. Seemed like it was going to be like taking candy from a baby. Five days later we went back up there for 2 days, and it was like all the fish had left the lake. We still got a few fish per day to 8 lbs, but it wasn't like it had been, or usually is. I guess that's fishing. The only thing we could think of was being too close to the full moon.

We had a strech of cold weather, and the Arm froze so did a few days on the main body of Arrow Lake out of Nakusp. Did very well each time for Bulls, and have even been getting a few trout around 10lbs. Talking to a few other locals in the area, it sounds like its been a good year for Bull Trout.

Still some open dates for big Gerrards on Kootenay Lake this spring. I'm booking from April 15 till the end of May. Prime time.
